Installing rasa-x on a datacenter VM

What is the recommended way to install rasa-x on a company datacenter vm running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS? I have already developed a basic assistant using rasa open source on the same machine.

Thanks

@ashishlal Hello, well it depends on the version you want to install? If I give you an idea Rasa X 1.0.X is not compatible with Rasa 3. x yet and it’s compatible with Rasa 2.x. I have installed Rasa X 42.5 using docker-compose and it’s easy to install with rasa open source 2.8.12. Ref: Docker Compose Installation

If you need any further help please mention me @ nik202.

@nik202 I installed the latest rasa open source available on pip (version 3.0.4). Which rasa-x version would you recommend?

@ashishlal I guess any rasa X version with rasa open source 3.0.4 is not compatible right now (I guess so) and Rasa Team is working on this. I will even cross-check with the rasa team next week. Have a great weekend.

@nik202 I get this error when I try to install rasa-x on on-prem ubuntu vm using Docker Compose Installation you suggested (I am also using rasa 2.8.12). I ran “sudo docker-compose up -d”

@ashishlal I am afraid that installation is not properly done, can you install it fresh?

I used this link to install. It works fine. Rasax: access rasa x with http://<vm-ip-address> instead of http://<vm-ip-address>:8000 - #3 by lao-dja-songdou

@ashishlal Thanks for the solution and feedback and good luck for your project.
