Retrieve end-to-end story via HTTP API when using an external tracker store

I tried to retrieve stories via the HTTP API: Rasa & Rasa Pro Documentation

I can get the stories when I use the Rasa-internal tracker store but I could not get it working with an external store, e.g., PostgreSQL. Am I missing something? Or is the HTTP API only supposed to work with the internal tracker store?

just to let you know, I was able to get it working with MongoDB as tracker store with no problems.
