Run / Access Rasa installed on ubuntu from a Windows computer

I installed Rasa as per the instructions here: https://chatbotslife.com/set-up-and-get-rasa-nluand-rasa-core-up-and-running-like-a-pro-part-2-b7663b2443c7

Now, how do I start the Rasa server on ubuntu and access/run the app from a Windows computer?

I can access the ubuntu server thru putty.

Hi abruck,

I’d suggest to reinstall rasa with the current version explained here:

After that I’d recommend you to read everything about the command line here:

to get familiar with it. Basically the process is split into train and run, depending on your wishes and if you want to deploy custom actions or an nlg module. If everything is setup correctly, meaning that e.g. the “rest” interface is defined in credentials.yml, and your server exposes the configured port (e.g. 5005), you should be able to start a POST request to

http://<server_url>:5005/webhooks/rest/webhook

Does that help?

Regards

Hi @abruck. The instructions from JulianGerhard should work fine for you, and will have you using the most recent version of Rasa.

If you want to, you can also try and use Docker on your server, to help with running the project on your server, but is not a requisite to run it, since you already installed python and Rasa in your server.

The first pip command ( pip install rasa-x --extra-index-url https://pypi.rasa.com/simple ) gave me this:

Hi @abruck

could you try to install aiohttp first:

and see if it works then? If not, maybe it’s worth mentioning to rasa.
