REST API vs. socket.io

Hi all,

I just wondered if there is a significant difference due to performance and/or security between using an REST API or socket.io. I do not assume that more than a 100 users will use my chatbot at a time. I heard something about using websockets might be more efficient.

Any comments and references are appreciated

I could be wrong but :

• Rest API need to be positioned in the same domain or subdomain ( crossdomain ajax is pain ) es: Rasa positioned on mywebsite.com -&nbspmywebsite Resources and Information. Website positioned on www.mywebsite.com/

• Socket.io are supposedly realtime and should not have the same domain constraints ( but I am a bit new of socket.io )
