Rasa Open Source or Rasa Pro? Better pricing understanding

Hi! We are a young technology startup(8 people) from Poland specializing in custom software development and product innovation. For our custom software projects, we aim to stand out by delivering solutions that include a text assistant, which helps automate processes and simplify the user interface.

To achieve this, we began exploring Rasa Open Source. Although the initial steps were challenging, we have gained significant experience and insights.

As a result, we now have some questions regarding Rasa’s features and licensing. I hope someone from the Rasa forum group will be able to help

  1. Suitability of Rasa Open Source:
    a. Based on your experience, is Rasa Open Source commonly used by technology companies similar to ours?
    b. Do you believe it’s sufficient for our needs, or should we consider transitioning to Rasa Pro to avoid potential limitations?

  2. Developer License Limitations:
    a. The Rasa Developer license allows for 1,000 external conversations. What happens if this number is exceeded? Does the service stop functioning, or are there additional charges?

  3. Licensing for B2B Products:
    a. If we sell our product to B2B clients, can each client independently obtain a private Rasa Developer license in compliance with Rasa licensing terms?

  4. Rasa Growth Plan for Multiple Clients:
    a. In the case of the Rasa Growth Plan, does each of our end clients need to purchase a separate plan?
    b. Alternatively, can we purchase the plan and allocate the 500,000 annual conversations across approximately 100 clients?
    c. Please note, we would prefer each client to have their own Rasa space with custom rules and intents.

  5. Conversation Definition:
    a. Could you provide a clear definition of what constitutes a “conversation”?
    b. Specifically, when is a conversation considered ended?
    c. Is it possible for a user to maintain a single conversation indefinitely, or is there a limit, such as a maximum number of tokens?

  6. Rasa Studio Trial:
    a. Rasa Studio looks impressive. Is it possible to access a 30-day free trial to evaluate its features?

Have a great day!

Best, Mario
