Lookup Tables vs Synonyms

Hello guys,

I have a quick question. Does lookup table cover synonym implementation? If I mean if I define synonyms in lookup table in addition to other data, is it a good approach or not? For example I intent to use NYC, New York as synonym but I have another state lookup which including other states? If I add NYC into lookup table is it a good idea or should i keep it as separate synonym? Could you clarify me about best approach to use synonyms and lookups? Thanks

Seems like right now for lookup table there is no synonym supported.

Also wondering, what can we do if we need to have synonym in our lookup table?
