Welcome to our Rasa community! We are thrilled to have you here!

At Rasa, our mission is to empower all makers to create AI assistants that work for everyone. To achieve this, we believe it’s imperative that we grow our community of makers and professionals from all around the world with different backgrounds and levels of experience in conversational AI. To empower you, our community with the means to excel in your projects through the sharing of knowledge, and support you in finding solutions to any obstacles in your path.

To achieve these goals, we ask that everyone participates in such a way that promotes a friendly, positive experience for our global community.

To that end, we will be working hard to ensure that we align our actions with that purpose. In addition to our Terms of Service, we provide the following guidelines for our community. This Code of Conduct should not only help you understand how to act within the community but also help you to understand what to expect from others in this space.

Here are some examples of great behaviour we would like to maintain:

  • Being welcoming and inclusive to the community
  • Respecting differing viewpoints and experiences
  • Taking constructive criticism into consideration
  • Being focused on what’s best for the community
  • Looking out for each other and showing empathy

To keep this a space for professional interaction, please familiarize yourself with the code of conduct below:

Respect and be excellent to each other.

The base of every great community is mutual respect and trust. Having strong opinions on topics is completely understandable and acceptable. In fact, we encourage people to be passionate about the project. We welcome sharp, factual feedback and valuable discussions, but not abusive criticism, attacks on people in a derogatory form or discussions of merely contentious nature.

Therefore, abide by the following:

  • Be civil. Don’t post anything that a reasonable person would consider offensive, abusive, or hate speech.
  • Keep it clean. Don’t post anything obscene or sexually explicit.
  • Respect each other and our developers. Don’t harass or grief anyone, impersonate people, or expose their private information.
  • Don’t incite others to do anything listed above.

Be patient with our team and each other.

Our team at Rasa are actively involved in our community forum, from answering your questions, helping to resolve technical blockers or iterating on new ideas. At the same time, they are working hard to achieve our mission at Rasa. If our developers don’t respond right away, it’s probably because they are working on something for you!

Therefore, please be aware of the following:

  • When presenting a question or request, please include as much detail as possible. You can find tips on how to ask a great question here.
  • When you ask for help on the forum remember that others are not familiar with your situation and do not know your goals, provide as much relevant context as you can, including things that you tried which didn’t work.
  • When you tag people to answer your question, be patient, we do our best to answer questions as quickly as possible, but sometimes we cannot jump on all questions right away. Additionally, the list of tagged people should not exceed one person per post.

Keep things tidy

Keeping things tidy will help everyone to locate discussions that include relevant information much faster, which in turn will also help you get a quicker response.

Therefore, please be aware of the following:

  • Use a title that summarizes the specific problem, include useful keywords, but avoid words such as “Help!” or someone’s name.
  • Make sure you’re starting a topic in the relevant category.
  • Use the tag function responsibly, and only tag the most relevant words. E.g. Rasa X
  • Format your post to improve the presentation and readability, you can use Markdown, BBcode or HTML.
  • Keep discussions on-topic and related to the original post.
  • Do not resurrect old threads, if it’s relevant to your discussion reference it in a new post as a hyperlink.

Approach matters constructively.

To keep our forums a valuable platform for sharing your thoughts, feedback and content, we would like to remind you to apply common courtesy when posting. Disagreements, both social and technical, happen all the time. It is important that we resolve disagreements and differing views constructively. Let’s focus on working together to resolve issues, learning from mistakes and finding solutions.

Therefore, abide by the following:

  • Keep your responses constructive and disagree respectfully. No one likes a negative nancy.
  • Any spam, duplicated topics, rants, off-topic material, or any posts with the sole purpose to derail the discussion, will be subject to removal at our discretion.
  • Don’t be a troll and don’t feed the troll!

Abide by the law.

There is not much worse than spending hours, days, weeks or even months working hard on something, putting a great deal of effort into it for someone to swoop in and pass it off as their own.

Therefore, abide by the following:

  • You may not post anything digital that belongs to someone else without permission. You may not post descriptions of, links to, or methods for stealing someone’s intellectual property (software, video, audio, images), or for breaking any other law.
  • Do not share or post links that violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).

We take reports seriously, those that do not follow the Code of Conduct may face repercussions at the full discretion of our moderation team.

Here is a short overview of how we deal with misconduct:

  1. Warning: For the majority of cases whereby someone breaks the code of conduct, we will remove the content in question and send a warning. This is where most cases are resolved.
  2. Suspension: For repeatedly breaking the Code of Conduct, or being disrespectful we will enforce a temporary suspension or silence. The amount of time will depend on the severity of the case.
  3. Removal: We will remove and ban those who demonstrate a pattern of destructive behavior towards our community. These are very rare cases.
