Rasa Community Forum is up!

We are happy to announce a new place for Rasa Community - Rasa Community Forum. We created this forum with the idea that this is going to be the place where Rasa Community will meet, discuss interesting questions, share ideas and learn from each other.

We are moving here from Gitter, which has been the home for Rasa Community for over a year but based on the feedback from all of you, we decided to switch to a platform which would allow you all find the answers to your questions easier. What will happen to Rasa Gitter platforms? We are not going to close them right away, but we are going to shift our focus to support Rasa Community Forum first.

What Rasa Community Forum is for:

  • Discussions about Rasa, Chatbots, ML, anything else you find interesting
  • Sharing ideas and suggestions on how we can make things better
  • Talking about interesting projects you are working on
  • Connecting with other bright minds and finding collaborators for projects or contributions
  • Finding useful learning resources and staying up to date with Rasa updates
  • Meeting other great devs and being part of the great community

What Rasa Community Forum is not for:

  • Reporting bugs

  • Raising issues

  • Submitting Pull Requests and proposing code changes

To make sure that all of these things get the attention they need, just like before, they should be submitted on Rasa NLU and Rasa Core GitHub repositories.

We hope you are going to enjoy this new platform and we would love to hear your feedback on it. Let’s build a great community together!

Hey, are the changes available on the github ?

(Juste) #5

Hey @asokolow. Yes, the master branch on GitHub contains all the latest changes.

(Pierre Paul) #6

Nice! Good job! Sadly, this also means the 0.12 doc doesn’t work anymore

(Juste) #7

Hey @PierrePaul. Thanks for pointing this out - there’s definitely an issue with the links. While we fix this, you can switch to a different version of the docs from the index page of the version of your choice. So for example, you can change to 0.10.2 (or any other version) from, then you can switch to any other version from and so on.

We will fix this as soon as possible

Awesome thank you!

“language-agnostic NER” - so duckling is obsolete? fingers crossed

(Souvik Ghosh) #10

No, language-agnostic NER is NER_CRF that is to train custom entity. previously the ner_crf was dependent on spacY’s tokens to be able to build a model for entity extraction. that means you will have to provide a spacy’s vectors in order to extract entities making it dependent on the languages provided by spaCy. However now, language-agnostic NER CRF actually uses whitespace tokens( tokenised by whitespace) in order to build the entity extraction model. so it does not depend on spacY anymore so you can build a NER on Klingnon if you like

Duckling is a rule based entity extractor so very system like entity extraction like Date, time, duration, distance, currency. You can also add custom dimensions in duckling for countries, cities etc etc since they all can be predefined by a set of rules unlike CRF where entities are extracted from patterns.

Launch of the Rasa demo bot

Many of you have been asking us for an example of a bot that was built with Rasa and we’ve finally created one to show you! You can try it out here:

Of course we also open sourced the code, so you can actually see what’s going on behind the scenes:

Try it out and let us know what you think! Feel free to create issues in the repo for any bugs or feature suggestions :slightly_smiling_face:
