The python version is 3.8.10 and I tried installing rasa version 2.1.2

I also ran into this and sadly Rasa doesn’t work yet on M1 Macs. As shown in the initial error, the issue is the lack of AVX instructions on ARM based processors. As far as I know, AVX has been a prerequisite for most machine learning packages. In this case it’s needed for Tensorflow. Apple does have a fork of Tensorflow to enable it to run on their new chips, but it’s based on the release candidate version of Tensorflow (2.4). I tried using this fork with the latest Rasa version which allows it to finish installing but training doesn’t work. I’m not sure on the specifics of why… I believe once Tensorflow 2.4 is out of RC, one of the next versions of Rasa will pick it up and work out the bugs.

I’ve written a guide that seems to work for me. It’s unofficial, largely due to changes that might hopefully happen, but it’s something that should help in the meantime.

> Hi all. Because Rasa uses Tensorflow we’ve been experiencing some pip-related hardship getting installations to work on the new apple M1 macbooks. I think we’ve found a temporary workaround for the situation, but it’s important to emphesize that this workaround is very much temporary. Hopefully, these steps won’t be needed in the future when the Tensorflow/pip incompatibilities are adressed. An unofficial guide to getting Rasa to work on a M1 Macbook. What follows below is a step-by-step guide…
